This Queeriosities original design was created to honor Black History Month in 2021, and proudly pays tribute to the late, great, queen mother of punk rock: Poly Styrene (of the punk pioneers, X-Ray Spex). Poly Styrene undoubtedly paved the way for many generations of female fronted punk bands that followed. In addition to being one of the earliest + most prominent women in punk rock, Poly Styrene was ALSO one of the first women of color to be recognized in the punk scene up until that point.
